LG V50 ThinQ
Following on from Samsung S10 5G and OPPO Reno 5G, LG has joined the 5G smartphone club. The new V50 ThinQ 5G is available to buy in Australia through Telstra.
The V50 ThinQ is actually a single-screen handset with a detachable secondary display accessory. The second display will be boxed in with the V50 ThinQ, so you won’t need to purchase it separately – and as it runs off the device’s battery, you also won’t need to charge it before clipping it to your phone.
Essentially, this is a 6.2-inch OLED display baked into a sturdy folio case, which connects to the V50 ThinQ via pogo pins. LG’s focus is on the benefit of Flipping From Phone to Gaming Device. You are able to see the game on one screen, and use the other screen as a game controller. Play Game like old school way with great accuracy, responsiveness and immersion. But the screen can also be used for day-to-day multi-tasking, making it a convenient add-on for both work and play, like acting as a virtual dedicate gaming controller or pulling up an IMDB page while you’re watching Netflix.

It’s easy to see LG is playing it safe with its first 5G phone. The company is trying to remain modest on the new features because the company “wanted [5G] to run on a stable platform,” meaning it didn’t want to introduce too many battery-hungry features.
